Was this maybe our first error in the history of the church

I was reading from the book of Acts this morning & in the 1st chapter @ the end of the book, we have Peter talking about replacing Judas. So after nominating two of the qualified followers, who had been with Jesus since His baptism, Joseph Barsabbas & Matthias they asked God through prayer to make plain to all of them present in that upper room which of these two men; You choose to take the place in this ministry and leadership & then they drew straws to determine who would be chosen. Maybe as the church; the Body of Christ was this not one of our 1st mistakes & the rest of our efforts @ being His bride is history!

Ok; here is my first post!

It has been two plus years since I left the I.C. I had decided that after reading various simple church, organic church books & hearing multitude's of messages or podcasts about the same subjects I realized that all the thoughts that I had had on my mind over many years of sitting in various churches over about 50 years had some merit. It was about 16 months before my family discovered an O.C. plant in the Ottawa area, of which we checked out & enjoyed but I soon realized that I was more interested in seeing a O.C. up & running than in knowing Jesus. From God's word in Matthew 16:17 & 18, Jesus says, I will put together my church. That's it; I realized that we can do nothing unless He builds it & that's what I believe He means! I believe He will bring together Christians or followers of Christ & when that happens because he brought it together, then we will be church, His bride. After my leaving the O.C. attempt @ having church I came across Wayne Jacobson teachings & I believe he is on the right track about Getting It. I believe most of us Jesus followers have Gotten It in our minds but until He reveals His love to us & only then will we Get It in our hearts. That's where I am in My God Journey, trying to relax in His love until He gives it to me as He quoted in Matthew 13:11 & 12!
